Hadleigh Country Park

We visited Hadleigh Country Park to explore its walking and cycling trails, play areas and views across the Thames Estuary.

Our visit

We went primarily to learn about hiring bikes and using the trails which were created for the mountain biking events at the London 2012 Olympics. But there is so much more with great paths for walking, trim trails, play areas, including for remote controls, not to mention the ruins of 13th century which dominated the stunning landscape over the Thames Estuary.

Good to know

Wear good walking shoes, and take a sun hat and sun cream as there are lots of open spaces.

Getting around

Being an area for mountain biking, the terrain was quite hilly so may not be suitable for everyone. However, there were benches and seats strategically placed throughout the walking areas. The cycling trails are quite stoney, hence need for good walking shoes. However, you can mostly walk on grass/grassy paths.
